About
The Multimodality Special Interest Group seeks to build a community of faculty and postgraduate students in the National Institute of Education (NIE), Nanyang Technological University Singapore who share an interest in multimodality and education.
Multimodality is about recognising the different ways in which meanings are made in our communication and interaction with others. Multimodality in education is the study of meaning-making in the context of teaching and learning.
The MM SIG as a community of practice comprises people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact with one another. It is through the process of sharing information and experiences with the group that members learn from each other, and have an opportunity to develop personally and professionally. Through regular professional sharing, we hope to break institutional silos and promote interdisciplinary learning with one another.
